SIP Wealth Calculator
How this SIP calculator works
The calculator uses the standard future-value formula for a series of monthly investments made at the start of each month:
FV = P × [((1 + i)n − 1) ÷ i] × (1 + i)
Here P is the monthly SIP, i is the expected annual return divided by 12, and n is the number of months.
Worked example
A SIP of ₹10,000 a month for 10 years at an assumed 12% a year means ₹12,00,000 invested. At that rate it would grow to about ₹23,23,391, of which about ₹11,23,391 is estimated returns.
Keep in mind
Real returns vary from year to year, and equity funds can fall in value. The calculator assumes a constant return and ignores taxes and exit loads, so treat the result as an illustration, not a promise.
Frequently Asked Questions
What return should I assume in a SIP calculator?
Use a conservative figure for the fund category you are considering, and try several scenarios. Past returns do not guarantee future returns, especially for equity funds.
Does the SIP calculator include tax?
No. It shows pre-tax values and ignores exit loads. Capital-gains tax applies when you redeem.
Is a SIP better than a lump sum?
A SIP spreads your purchases over time and suits regular monthly income. A lump sum puts all the money to work at once. Try our lumpsum calculator to compare the two.
